It's time to share my favourite day trips in and around Jönköping. In my previous guide, I shared My top picks within cycling distance of central Jönköping. this time, I’ll take you a bit further afield.

GRENÅSA BYGGNADSVÅRD

You know that feeling when you just know something is good before you even get there? That’s exactly how I feel about anything Simon Jonegård is involved in. He’s got the heart, the love for authenticity and craftsmanship – and a genuine desire to make the world a better place. Grenåsa Byggnadsvård is resourcefulness at its finest: a building conservation shop offering everything from doors, windows and fittings to linseed oil paint, vintage signs and mouth-blown glass.

RAVELMARKS GÅRD

A truly lovely farm shop just on the outskirts of Gränna. I love browsing their homegrown fruit and veg, picking strawberries or flowers in their pick-your-own fields, or bringing home some of their farm-raised meat. The last time I shopped at Ravelsmarks Gård, I left with two black bin bags full of kale for a grand Christmas table setting and dinner in my studio.

FLÄTTINGE GÅRD

Three innovative sisters run this farm shop and food business with sweet lupin as their star ingredient. How cool is that?! Flättinge Gård is located between Gränna and Huskvarna. Here, you can enjoy a delicious lunch (I highly recommend their flatbread wrap with sweet lupin patties) or have a coffee and cake in the garden.

Be sure to take home one of their sweet lupin products. We’ve got to support amazing local entrepreneurs who want to do good in the world – right?

GRAFITGRÅ

Grafitgrå is always worth a little detour. Whether it’s for lunch, an ice cream, or just to see what’s new in their collection. I love their flatbread and often sit out on the terrace with a coffee and one of their homemade treats. They also have an interior design shop and a fashion boutique, featuring many in-house designs by owner and founder Elin Ginal.

RUDENSTAMS GÅRDSBUTIK & KAFÉ

You can visit Rudenstams Gårdsbutik & Kafé pretty much all year round. But during apple season – or when the entire orchard is in full bloom – it’s at its most beautiful. Äppeldalen is a bit like Jönköping’s very own Tuscany, really.
In the farm shop, you’ll find everything from their own apple juice, meat and vegetables to other locally produced goods. The café serves all kinds of delicious treats made with apples from the farm.

STRANDS GÅRD

What could be better than filling and buying your own milk straight from the farm in a glass bottle, or picking up freshly harvested berries from just moments ago? You’ll find that – and much more – from Strands’ own farm in their small farm shop. In late summer, you can also visit to run through tall maize plants and pick your own corn, or gather sunflowers in their pick-your-own field.

ME IN COLOR

A beautifully curated selection of carefully chosen second-hand clothes and accessories in a lovely setting. At Me in Color, Åsa offers both the chance to shop second-hand and to hand in the clothes and accessories you’re ready to part with. Of course, I couldn’t resist picking up two dresses and a necklace the last time I visited.

FLOR VINTAGE

Looking for the wedding dress or a party dress to rent? Then you’ve come to the right place. At Flor Vintage, you can either buy or rent the dress of your dreams – along with the perfect accessories to match.

ATELJÉ BLIVÉ

“Bli ve” roughly means “to get yourself” in Småland dialect. And that’s exactly what you can do at Ateljé Blivé.
Here, you’ll find vintage and second-hand treasures, retro clothing and design classics in a wonderfully delightful jumble.

Blomstra Tillsammans is a cosy little flower shop that shares its space with three other businesses at Terminal 31. It’s the perfect place to treat yourself to a bouquet or something beautiful while you’re out shopping.

CAJO KERAMIK

Carina Cajo Johansson is the ceramicist and designer who never stands still – she’s always working on something new. A new collection, a fresh design idea, or simply a vision to create space for more creatives. In Cajo’s shop, you’ll find everything from her handmade ceramics and artwork to carefully selected interior design pieces.

Dakabom is a spacious and inspiring interior design shop where every item carries a story. Everything is vintage and second-hand, most of it sourced from Hungary. If you’re looking for large vintage cabinets, old Hungarian urns with beautiful patina, or classic vintage chairs from across Europe – this is the place to look.

TYGHUSET

Tyghuset is a true classic for anyone from Jönköping. It used to be located in Taberg, but now it’s housed in a beautiful old industrial building in Norrahammar. Tyghuset knows everything there is to know about fabrics and textiles, and you’ll also find plenty of inspiring interior pieces and lovely home accessories.
