Farm shop in a rural setting with a beautiful view of lake Vättern
Save
Just outside Huskvarna, with a beautiful view over lake Vättern, lies Strands gård. Here, there is a farm shop where you can buy the farm's own milk, home-produced yoghurt, cream, eggs, vegetables, and more. In late summer, they also have a popular pick-your-own corn event.
Many of the products sold in the farm shop come from Strands gård, but they also sell products from local neighbouring producers and farms. The selection varies depending on the season, but items such as milk, yoghurt, cream, and eggs are available year-round.
The shop operates on a self-service basis, although there is often someone nearby. You get the milk directly from the milk machine, either bringing your own bottles to fill or buying glass bottles on-site. Payment is easily made via Swish.
Sometimes, sales move out onto the farm, and in late summer, they open their popular pick-your-own corn event. Keep an eye on their social media when the season for this approaches.
Strands gård is a family-run farm that has been operated for several generations since 1896 when the farm's first barn was built. The brothers who run Strands gård today have each been awarded a gold medal for the high quality of their milk.
The award is part of LRF's "Gold Medal Programme" and is given to those who have delivered milk of very high quality for at least 23 years.
Strands gård is part of Food Around Gränna, an initiative created by local producers and entrepreneurs who want to support a vibrant countryside and locally produced ingredients. The shops, farm cafés, and restaurants are open year-round and are happy to show you how they make their delicacies.
During the Ascension Day weekend each year, all businesses invite you to the food tour, where the participants have the same opening hours and offer tastings and fun activities for both young and old. See all the participants who are part of Mat runt Gränna
North of Huskvarna, you’ll find Småland’s very own Tuscany – Äppledalen, the Apple Valley. Here, over 100,000 apple trees grow at Rudenstams and Vistakulle Fruit Orchards. This idyllic getaway is part of the East Vätterbranterna Biosphere Reserve and offers breathtaking views over Lake Landsjön and Lake Vättern, scenic orchards, nature reserves, local leather craftsmanship, interior design shops, charming countryside cafés, and farm stores. It’s the perfect complement to the buzz of the city.
