Visingsö is a pearl in Vättern. Here you can not only go with the remmalag and look at fantastic churches, but also enjoy various art exhibitions. The island is also a good source of inspiration for those who love art. The light and the beautiful environment make it easy to find motives to paint or photograph.
When you hop off the ferry down the harbor and go a little to the right, you will soon find Ataljé Lovisa which is open during the summer. Here Ingrid Larsson Haglund shows and sells hers paintings, art prints, cards, books, trays and textiles. Ingrid likes to receive groups and tells about her work and also about Visingsborg as she is an interior designer and has written several books about Visingsö and the Brahe family.
If you continue south out on the island you will soon come to Persgården and their fine art exhibition. During the summer, the exhibition is changed regularly. The gallery is owned and operated by Inger and Lars Forsberg and the farm also has a farm shop with organic products. The room where the art gallery is located is an old converted hay loft. Here, there is a great variety of art forms that are shown, including painting, watercolor, sculpture, silver, glass and graphics. Both new and well-established artists participate.
Further north on the island you will find Olle Krantz Art Museum Tempelgården which he has created. Here are some 60 of his sculptures and paintings. Olle lived and worked on Visingsö during his lifetime. At Tempelgården you will also find a café and overnight cabins. The Temple itself was built for the Theosophists' World Peace Congress in 1913 by Katherine Tingley. The temple was then in Stigby but was later moved to Säby where it is today.
Every year in August, Visingsö Konstrunda is also called the bicycle art round. Most of the exhibitors live and work on the island. Here you can cycle the island around and visit the various exhibitors who work on a common theme each year.
