In Jönköping and the surrounding area you can shop, play mini golf on a mountain, watch candy canes being baked (don't forget to taste them too). The selection is wide and you can choose according to your mood and weather. Here we list 10 things that you should try during your days off in JKPG, but of course there is much more.
Take the ferry from Gränna to Visingsö and experience the island and its beautiful nature from a bicycle saddle or horse-drawn carriage, known as Remmalag. Visingsö is a historic island that once had central importance for Sweden.
The first factory buildings in the Matchstick Area (Tändsticksområdet) were built in 1847. Matchmaking continued until the mid-1970s. Today, the area is bustling with life and cozy shops.

Also called the Tuscany of Småland, here the landscape undulates and the apple trees stand in a row. In the valley there are more than 110,000 apple trees and several farm shops where you can buy both apples and other locally grown products. The entrepreneurs here have gathered under the name Äppledalen.
Stroll through stretches of apple orchards, have a coffee in beautiful surroundings or buy some locally produced produce. Äppledalen is a fantastic place to take a day trip to in all seasons.
Experience Småland's cultural history, get to know the most powerful family in the great power Sweden, the Brahe family who left their mark in Gränna and on Visingsö. At the museum you can enjoy the works of artist John Bauer and for the little ones there used to be a fairy tale wardrobe where fantasy becomes reality, but now there is a whole exhibition called Follow John.
On the western slope of the city you will find the natural area Stadsparken (Jönköping City Park) with lovely views over the city and lake Vättern. Here you will find a large playground, open-air museum, café, mini golf course and pastures with alpacas, sheep and goats.
The Husqvarna Museum showcases over 300 years of development by the world's most diverse industrial company. An exciting museum that brings nostalgia to life, with everything from weapons to kitchen equipment.
Opposite the museum you have Smedbyn, which used to be housing for gunsmiths and today contains craft and art studios.
Tabergstoppen rises 121 meters above the town of Taberg and is home to thousands of bats during the winter. During the summer months, exciting mining hikes are held in the mountain. At the top there is a café and a mini golf course.
Take to the water in beautiful Bunn on a guided boat tour at Trolska båtturer. Experience John Bauer's inspiring environments through water lily-filled canals. Tours run during the summer and take approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes.
