If you want to hike among almost all of Sweden's deciduous trees, then Strömsberg is the place to visit. The forest consists of several different trails, for pedestrians, cyclists and riders alike.
In the eastern slope of the valley of Jönköping, you will find Strömsberg's nature reserve, which with its varied growth and rich wildlife has a lot to offer. It is a great place for those who want to experience a fascinating nature, while listening to the tones of Sweden's smallest bird, the Kungsfågeln, who resides in the area. Lace up your hiking boots and discover one of Jönköping's forest gems! If you arrive by car, there are two parking spaces to choose from, and if you want to take the bus, hop off at Ljungarum church and walk through the tree hall towards Strömsberg's courtyard. Here is a map of the whole area - it also shows where you can park, bike and ride horses.
Through roads and paths, and through both enchanting forest areas, open fields and flowering brook ravines, there are several tracks. If you want to hike you can choose between two marked trails that are 5,8 and 3,5 kilometers long. It is also possible to merge several paths and tracks if you want to extend your distance.
Hiking in the varied terrain of Strömsberg is somewhat demanding, as the trails take you up and down the slopes and along hilly forest paths. At the same time, you will experience a fantastic nature with centuries-old giant trees, many winding streams and fantastic views. If you make your way up to Skinnersdal you will also be able to see the entire western part of Jönköping!
