A playground and park that offers play, sports, and activities for all ages

Friaredalen features a popular playground with large climbing structures, swings, a zip line, barbecue areas, a skate and BMX ramp, and a challenging parkour and outdoor gym. Surrounded by greenery, majestic trees, and beautiful water features, the park is also a lovely spot to relax and enjoy nature.

This playground is one of the largest and most popular in the municipality. It is a favorite destination for preschools, families, and visitors, offering fun and adventure for all age groups.

Activities for all ages

For younger children, there’s a small slide, toddler swings, a spider-web climbing frame with built-in games, and more.

Older children can enjoy a skate and BMX ramp, a parkour and outdoor gym, and a larger climbing structure with slides of various heights. The area also features expansive grass fields and nearby Junebäcksvallen, an 11-a-side artificial turf football field, as well as a smaller football pitch.

In addition to the playground, there’s a basketball area, and during winters when conditions allow, the field is flooded for ice skating.

A lush green park

The park is home to hundred-year-old lindens and elms, a unique Caucasian wingnut tree, various birch species, spring-blooming bird cherries, and fragrant katsura trees. Winding through the park is Junebäcken, a stream deeply tied to Jönköping’s history and believed to have inspired the city’s name.
