Digital dance

Experience dance on your way home from work, on your way to the shop, or during your Sunday walk. In Jönköping, there are two dance benches (dansbänkar).

A dance bench is a digital dance experience aimed at making professional dance art accessible to all residents and visitors. Professional dance artists have selected locations around Jönköping County where they have created and filmed choreographies specific to that location, which visitors can experience via QR codes.

Råslätt

Dance artist Edin Jusuframic has created a dance piece at the outdoor stage Kepsen in Råslätt. Edin is a dancer and choreographer and has previously participated in numerous dance performances and TV productions, including as a background dancer in Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest. Adnan Sahuric has filmed Edin's dance bench.

Knektaparken

At Rocksjön, local dance artists Stina Nilsson and Isabell Karlsson have created a dance piece that has been lit and filmed by Evelina Dembacke. The piece is located in Knektaparken, a short distance from the canoe grandstand towards Rocksjöbadet, near the wooden artwork created by artist Robert Hais.

Since the pieces are created specifically for the location chosen by the dance artist, they can only be experienced at that location. There is a sign with a QR code at the location that visitors scan with their mobile phones, and then they can experience the dance!

Dance benches can be found at various locations in Jönköping County, each unique. The idea was developed by the DANSSpår project, the Culture Development section within Region Jönköping County. The dance benches in Jönköping are made in collaboration with Jönköping Municipality.
