Bar and indoor boule

In the heart of Jönköping city, you'll find Boula la Bar, where you can play indoor boule, enjoy drinks, play shuffleboard, and savour delicious food from the neighbouring French restaurant Cyrano.

Boula la Bar is only found in Jönköping and Växjö and is perfect for birthday celebrations, corporate events, hen parties, or stag dos. Gather friends, family, or colleagues for games, food, and drinks.

Play indoor boule

Boule is a relaxed and social activity typically played outdoors on various surfaces like gravel or grass. At Boula la Bar, there are five fine twelve-meter lanes where you can play indoor boule for one or two hours.

Strategy and precision

Boule is easy to learn but can take time to master. The sport combines strategy and precision, with the goal being to get your balls as close to the small wooden ball, "lillen," as possible.

Restaurant Cyrano

Boula la Bar is next to Cyrano, which aims to provide a genuine French dining experience. With its food, they strive to transport you to the southern French region of Provence, where food is part of the culture and heritage. Cyrano offers lunch, à la carte, and takeaway options. Choose from vegetarian, fish, and meat dishes, such as salads, burgers, pasta, and pizza.

Lunch, packages, and after work

Boula la Bar/Cyrano offers lunch every weekday and various packages with boule or shuffleboard, including food. This is a perfect place for an after-work gathering, where you and your colleagues can relax and have fun after work.

The origin of boule

The word boule is the French word for ball, but in France and most other countries, the game is called pétanque. Boule is a sport that has existed for a long time. In ancient Egypt, stones were thrown at fixed targets. Through ancient Greece, the throwing came to the Roman Empire.

The modern form of boule originated in France and came to Sweden in the 1940s. Prince Bertil made it known to a wide audience.
