Experience 400-year-old pine trees

Bottnaryd's primeval forest (Bottnaryds Urskog), as the name suggests, is a very old coniferous forest, with pines up to 400 years old. The nature reserve is an area with coniferous forest, marshland, and diverse wildlife and plant life.

The forest consists of dried and fallen trees, which not only testify to bygone times but also play an important role for plant life. The area is not only for those with a keen interest in plants; it also has rich wildlife, and the marshland area is a place where moose and deer often gather.

Södra Vätterleden hiking trail runs through the nature reserve, connecting Mullsjö and Huskvarna. If you are out hiking, remember that it is a nature reserve, so be extra careful with the environment.
