John Bauer Hotel is a family-owned modern hotel located in the heart of Jönköping right by Lake Munksjön. The open-plan restaurant Ester Kök & Bar offers a wide menu with something for everyone.
The hotel has a nice lounge bar where you can often listen to live music and in good weather, guests have the opportunity to sit on the hotel's balcony in a lovely sunny position.
The hotel has 106 rooms and some of the rooms have a lake view. The rooms are tastefully and timelessly decorated with comfortable beds, a seating area, a desk, a flat-screen TV, an iron and ironing board, free Wi-Fi and a minibar. The larger room types are designed in a studio theme with inspiration from John Bauer's wife Ester Ellqvist. The suites are decorated by Levande Lejon interior design with a theme of sober glamour. The standard rooms at the hotel are all inspired by John Bauer's art and the forests of Småland.
Hotel guests are offered free access to relax with a sauna, foot bath and gym. If space is available, you can book a place in the hotel's garage for a fee. During the summer, there is a playroom for children.
The conference room has six meeting rooms and two banquet rooms for private parties, weddings or dinners.
It is less than a 10-minute walk from Jönköping Travel Center and it is easy to get to the hotel by car from the E4. Here you are close to everything, the Match Museum, Jönköping County Museum, shopping, cafes, lovely walking paths and Lake Vätterstranden. There are also good connections to Kulturhuset Spira, Elmia, Jönköping Concert Hall and the A6 center.
Jönköping is one of Sweden’s oldest cities, beautifully located by the shores of three lakes. Discover magnificent nature, a long sandy beach right in the city, the fascinating history of the match industry, and the magical art of John Bauer! Stroll through charming alleys, visit museums and libraries, explore shops, dine at cosy restaurants, and stay at welcoming hotels. With a university that attracts students from all over the world, the city has a vibrant and international feel. Nature is always close—whether you’re into cycling, forest trails, or peaceful nature reserves.
