Experience the golf course with the same character as the Scottish coastal band where the golf holes are visible from the sea. Here, you can play on Sweden's most genuine 9-hole course with links character.
The golf course is beautifully located on the northern tip of Visingsö, and you have a fantastic view of lake Vättern from all nine holes. There are signs to the golf course if you follow the main road north.
About the course
On the flat and open site, weather and wind have a significant impact on the game, and no day is the same as the next. In stronger winds, the course becomes more challenging, and you must play strategically and plan your shots more. In good weather and sparkling sunshine, the course feels easier. However, always expect a bit of wind as Lake Vättern is nearby.
The course has 9 holes but 18 teeing areas, which means the course changes depending on the teeing area you play from. Visingsö Golf Club has developed the site into a truly fine links course. There are 36 bunkers and greens surrounded by stone walls.
The course is not particularly demanding to walk, and if you need a trolley, they are available at the clubhouse.
A golf break with a packed lunch
The clubhouse does not have any restaurant facilities, so we recommend bringing a picnic basket. Water, drinks, and other snacks are available for purchase in the clubhouse.
A toilet and defibrillator are located next to the clubhouse.
A golf course and airfield in the same place
In addition to beautiful views, Visingsö Golfklubb is adjacent to one of Sweden's perhaps most beautiful airfields. If you're lucky, you can experience small planes landing or taking off very close by while you play.
It is forbidden to cross the runway, which is also marked on the course and in the clubhouse.

The golf course does not have accommodation on site, but there are several options to choose from based on your preferences, such as Wisingsö Hotell & Konferens, Tempelgården, Visingsö Ställplats, Visingsöstugorna, and more.
End your round with a swim in Lake Vättern
Once you have finished playing, take the opportunity to visit other parts of the island. On northern Visingsö, you will also find the gem Sandudden, which is a larger sandy beach appreciated by swimmers in the summer.
On the way to and from the golf course, you can also stop at Erstad Kärr – one of Småland's best bird-watching spots.

Visingsö Golfklubb's course is affiliated with Golfamore, which gives you the opportunity to play golf at half green fee on over 1300 golf courses in Europe.
