A nature experience

About 15 kilometers outside Jönköping, you will find the small village of Tenhult, which offers several beautiful nature experiences. Tenhultsleden, which stretches 8.6 km from the Uvabergets naturreservat, through the village of Tenhult, and on to the Ingaryds naturreservat, offers a fantastic combination of nature, culture, and history.

Tenhultsleden provides a varied hiking experience where you walk through the village on asphalt and then into the forest on paths, gravel roads, and boardwalks over wetlands. To the south, you pass the Uvabergets naturreservat, known for its dramatic cliffs and rich biodiversity.

To the north, you reach the Ingaryds naturreservat, where information signs and QR codes lead you to exciting stories about the area's history.

Choose your starting point

Tenhultsleden has no fixed starting point, allowing you to begin your hike wherever suits you best. The usual starting place is at the TSOK clubhouse on Högalundsvägen, but other popular starting points are the bathing area, Uvaberget, and Ingaryd.

Experience attractions along the way

Along Tenhultsleden, you will encounter a range of fascinating attractions that tell the story of the area's history and nature. Whether you are fascinated by history or nature, each stop along the trail is a unique experience. Start at the TSOK clubhouse, where an information sign introduces the trail.

At the lake lowering, carried out in 1851, you can learn about how lake Tenhult was transformed into a canal to facilitate railway construction. Two signs depict episodes from the Kalmar War (1611–1613), including Mickel Jönsson's brave defense against the Danes.

The trail also takes you to the Uvabergets naturreservat, where cliffs and natural forest create a dramatic environment with views over lake Tenhult.

An information sign along the trail tells about the railway and describes its significance for Tenhult's growth, while another at Rogberga parish and farms explains the village's name and its historical development. At Rogberga Church, you gain insight into the area's religious and cultural center in the past.

Ingaryd Farm and its nature reserve tell about its strategic role along the old national road, the history of the courthouse, and the area's rich biodiversity, complete with QR codes for further exploration.
