Long trails with magical views of Gränna, Vättern and Visingsö
Save
Right behind the square in central Gränna, you'll find this beautifully located sport climbing crag with stunning views of the town, lake Vättern, and Visingsö. The crag may have only a few routes, but the climbing is excellent, making it well worth a visit.
Besides climbing, you are close to cozy cafés, famous polkagris candy shops, ice cream vendors, the Polar Museum, and fantastic evening sun. Gränna is a true tourist gem, well worth exploring. Visit the harbour for a delicious fish dish or take a trip to Visingsö to see Sweden’s oldest royal castle.
Grännaberget is a visible landmark in the small polkagris town, and its vertical rock wall attracts sport climbers during the summer season. In winter, there are also opportunities for ice climbing.
The crag offers long climbing routes in grades 4 to 6, all rewarding climbers with breathtaking views from the top.
Parking is available at Gränna Square. Whether you're arriving from the north or south, the square is easy to find - just follow Brahegatan and the signs towards Torget and Grenna Museum Andréexpeditionen.
Once at the square, turn away from the lake and walk up the square towards Bergsgatan.
From Bergsgatan, turn right onto Lergränd and follow the road uphill.
On the right, you'll see a tennis court; on the left, a small red house.
When standing between the red house and the tennis court, you’ll see the first climbing route, "Hålet i berget", directly in front of you.
A couple of days in Gränna holds everything you could wish for during your holiday. Stunningly clear water, breathtaking views, gentle walks in magical forests, history, cycling along beautiful country roads or challenging MTB tracks, relaxing to magical sunsets, strolls down cobblestone alleys, deliciously good ice cream and of course – the pepparmint rock candy.
