A track for both beginners and speed seekers

The surroundings of Lake Vättern offer a unique and varied terrain perfect for MTB. The hilly areas around the lake, with their forest trails, gravel roads, and steep hills, have become a popular training and competition area for cyclists.
On the western side of Jönköping, there are several trails, gravel roads, and MTB tracks that should be explored by mountain bike enthusiasts. The track at Olsbo is one of them, located near the Dumme Mosse Nature Reserve, about 15 km from central Jönköping.
The track offers rolling singletrack and many turns, making it a great challenge for both heart and technique. You need to keep pedalling and use your whole body to go fast. The loop is entirely naturally built and comes in two lengths: a shorter version of 4.8 km and a longer one of 5.1 km.
The track has only a few small uphill sections, but otherwise, it is flat, making it a mountain bike track suitable for both young and old, beginners and speed seekers. There are many starts and stops with numerous turns that can leave you breathless if you push hard.
Olsbo MTB was created in 2014 by a group of enthusiasts from the so-called Cykellistan. Today, Cykellistan exists as a Facebook page where visitors to the city can join to participate in announced rides for both road and MTB.
Olsbo can be found by following the cycle path along highway 40 from Axamobadet, where you can park and continue onwards. From Hallbystugan, which also offers good MTB opportunities, you can follow the so-called Rallarleden, which takes you to the sign for Olsbo. Turn right and follow the asphalt road for a few kilometres before a sign directs you left towards the track.
