Preserved petrol station from the 1960s
Save
Step into the golden age of petrol stations with a visit to Nostalgimacken in Moliden. Originally built in 1938 as a Nynäs/Shell station, it operated until 1967. After 47 years of abandonment, it was lovingly restored in 2014 by local history enthusiasts from the community association.
Nostalgimacken is unmanned, and the shop is locked and alarmed, but the station itself is accessible year-round. Outside, there is a seating area where visitors can relax and enjoy a picnic.
When you peek through the window, you’ll see a mannequin representing a customer, along with a shop filled with period-correct accessories and goods.
The station also features:
On the lubrication bridge, a Morris 1300 Kombi is displayed, lifted for service - adding to the authentic retro feel.
If you wish to visit inside the station for a guided tour, you can arrange it by contacting Stig Andersson, the designated contact person.
By car
Drive on the E4 motorway towards Torsvik Södra, exit and continue towards Lovsjön/Barnarp. Follow the road for a while (Moliden area) - the station will be on the left-hand side.
