See lake Vättern from a whole new perspective! With Kayakomat in Gränna, renting a kayak is easy and self-service, right at the small beach below the campground. The convenient concept lets you paddle whenever it suits you. Book online, unlock, and head out on your adventure!
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced paddler, Gränna offers a fantastic starting point for a trip on Lake Vättern. Kayaking here is a perfect addition to a weekend getaway, a family-friendly activity, or a scenic after-work outing with friends.
Head south to Röttle harbour, where you can easily go ashore. Don’t miss the nearby waterfall—just a 350-meter walk uphill. If you want to continue further, follow the Västanå trail along lake Vättern, which offers scenic rest stops and breathtaking views.
Paddle north instead, and you’ll soon reach the Girabäcken nature reserve. After a rewarding (and slightly challenging) hike, you’ll arrive at the Brahehus castle ruins. You can also stay within the protected lagoon of Gränna harbour—a great option if lake Vättern is windy or wavy.
Renting a kayak or SUP through Kayakomat is both simple and flexible. You book online and receive a code via text and email. Using a smart locking system, you can unlock your gear exactly when it suits you.
Each station provides a life jacket, paddle, and spray skirt. The rental is open 24/7 and works for both spontaneous outings and planned adventures. It’s a fun and affordable way to enjoy nature—alone or with friends and family.
Choose from a single kayak, tandem kayak, or SUP and head out onto the water!
A couple of days in Gränna holds everything you could wish for during your holiday. Stunningly clear water, breathtaking views, gentle walks in magical forests, history, cycling along beautiful country roads or challenging MTB tracks, relaxing to magical sunsets, strolls down cobblestone alleys, deliciously good ice cream and of course – the pepparmint rock candy.
