Two different hiking trails

Hike along Ingarydsleden and experience an enchanted hiking adventure in the heart of Småland, just a stone's throw from Tenhult. Here, history, art, and outstanding nature come together in perfect harmony, attracting hikers of all ages.

Ingarydsleden offers two different loop trails. Both loops are relatively short and suitable for those who want to enjoy a smaller but fulfilling and nature-close hike. The yellow trail is 2.1 km, and the blue trail is 1.7 km.

Both trails start at the parking lot at Ingaryd farm, a well-preserved place with origins from the 1570s. The paths are easy to walk and take you through varied terrain of swamp forest, stream ravines, slopes, and more than 100-year-old coniferous forest. The biodiversity is rich, with everything from green shield moss to the rare flat clubmoss.

Discover art sculptures along the way

Along the yellow trail, you will find four unique wooden sculptures created by artist Jarmo Keerele. These wooden sculptures stand as a memory of the extreme storms Gudrun and Per, which felled much of the forest in Ingaryd. The sculptures blend perfectly into the enchanted environment and offer a surprising art experience in the middle of nature.

End with a fika at Tenhult's local heritage farm

After a lovely hike, you can visit Tenhult's local heritage farm, located opposite Ingaryd on the other side of the old Nässjövägen. During the summer months, the charming red cottages are open and serve homemade cakes, rolls, and freshly baked waffles. The perfect place to round off your nature experience.

An oasis of biodiversity

Ingaryd is not only a hiking destination but also a nature reserve whose purpose is to preserve the biodiversity of the area's natural forest and agricultural landscape. The rich variety of coniferous and deciduous forest makes the area home to countless species, including rare lichens and mosses. In the spring, the forest is alive with birdsong from species such as flycatchers and wood warblers, and in the evening, you can see woodcocks flying at dusk.

Allemansrätten

The right of public access (Allemansrätten) allows you to explore Sweden’s nature. This unique privilege is based on shared responsibility, requiring everyone to respect wildlife, nature, landowners, and fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

The hiking trail passes through Ingaryds naturreservat. The usual right of public access does not apply fully in the nature reserve, read more at Länsstyrelsen.
