Home Hotel Victoria is located in the beautiful district of Väster, in central Jönköping. Here, you’ll have a wide selection of restaurants and shopping right around the corner. Jönköping’s attractions, such as the Match Museum and the John Bauer Museum, are also within comfortable walking distance.
Every morning, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, naturally included for overnight guests. An afternoon coffee break with pastries is also part of your stay — as well as an evening meal, completely free of charge.
At Victoria, you’ll stay in classically decorated rooms adorned with motifs from Jönköping’s matchstick history. The hotel offers everything from standard rooms to spacious suites. Since 2017, nearly all rooms have been renovated, including new bathrooms. Some rooms have only had their bathrooms refurbished. In spring 2021, the hotel completed an extension with 38 new rooms in the same bright, airy style as the rest. All rooms feature climate control.
In the hotel’s relaxation area, you can both raise your pulse and unwind. Spread over two floors, the wellness area includes a treadmill, exercise bike, rowing machine, yoga mats, free weights, and more. There’s also a communal sauna and seating areas where you can relax. Home Hotel Victoria offers three conference rooms with a capacity of 8–60 people, complete with full conference services.
Home Hotel Victoria carries a long and fascinating history. Throughout the historic building, you’ll find decorations and paintings telling the story of Jönköping — the city where the matchstick was invented.
The house was built in 1882 at the initiative of Ebba Ramsay, an author and care pioneer who ran a home for children with epilepsy and intellectual disabilities. In an effort to combat the widespread alcoholism of the time, she also opened an alcohol-free inn in the basement. To this day, it’s said that Ebba’s ghost still lingers in room 426 in the hotel’s attic floor.
