Hiking trail with a view

Högamonleden is a 14-kilometer circular trail that starts and ends at the KFUM Vidablick camp. The trail takes you through Backamoskogen, the Domneån naturreservat, and up to the impressive heights of Högamon. Along the way, you pass several historical cottage markers, Kleinafallet, and Klerebodammen before finishing at Attarpsdammen and Furuvikspåret.

The trail is marked with red and offers a mix of forest paths, steep sections, and walking paths. It is suitable for hikers with some experience in hilly terrain.

Challenges and views

Högamonleden can be challenging in some sections, but the rewards in the form of views and experiences make it well worth the effort. One of the highlights of the trail is the climb at Österlid, leading up to Högamon. From the top, you get a stunning view over Bankerydsdalen.

At Kleinafallet, you can enjoy the scenic surroundings of Klerebodammen – a perfect spot for a break or to take out your camera and capture the experience.

The trail also passes several old cottage markers that testify to the area's rich history.

Starting point at the Vidablick trail centre

Vidablick is a hub for a large number of hiking trails, running tracks, and walking paths. Here you will find a trail centre with all the trails in the area marked on a physical map. From the camp, trails and paths range from 1.5 km to 14 km. The trails starting here include Vidablickspåret (1.5 km), Furuviksspåret (3 km), Tjuvanabbenspåret (4.5 km), Högamonleden (14 km), and Målskogsleden (19/13/15 km). Adjacent to the trail centre, there is parking, picnic tables, and waste bins.

Allemansrätten

The right of public access (Allemansrätten) allows you to explore Sweden’s nature. This unique privilege is based on shared responsibility, requiring everyone to respect wildlife, nature, landowners, and fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

How to get here

The starting point for Högamonleden is Vidablick. It is easy to get here by car, and there is plenty of parking.

If you take regional bus 114 from Jönköping towards Habo, you can get off at the "Vidablicksvägen" bus stop. From there, you need to walk about 1 km, first via Verkstadsvägen and then Vidablicksvägen.

If you take regional bus 112 from Jönköping towards Bankeryd Prinsfors, you can get off at the "Sjöåkra" bus stop. From there, you need to walk about 500 m through the forest.
