Besides being enjoyable and fun, cross-country skiing is also excellent exercise. In Jönköping, there are several trails to choose from if the weather permits, and many of them offer more than one trail option.
Around Jönköping and its surroundings, there are several facilities for cross-country skiing. Some of the facilities have artificial snow, but most rely on natural snow.

Hallby offers several trails to choose from: 1.5 km, 2 km, 2.5 km, and 4 km, all illuminated until 21:00. In addition to these, there are trails of 5 km, 10 km, and 22 km, the latter of which goes through Dumme Mosse. When natural snow permits, trails are groomed on the fields near Hallbystugan.
Hallby has an artificial snow trail that is part of several running trails. The length depends on the cold and the winter season, but usually 2-4 km during the winter season. You need to pay to use the artificial snow trail, and you can pay with Swish on-site.
Up on Huskvarnaberget, adjacent to the IKHP lodge, there is a 2.5 km illuminated trail lit until 22:00. There are also trails of 5 km, 10 km, and 18 km. The 2.5 km trail is maintained with artificial snow during the winter season. You need to pay to use the artificial snow trail, and you can pay with Swish on-site.
From the Huskvarna part of Bondberget, at Öxnegården, you can reach a 3.7 km trail and a 5.5 km illuminated trail lit until 21:00.
Here you can choose whether to start gently or go for a longer workout. On Grännaberget, there is a short trail of 0.5 km, as well as illuminated trails of 2.5 km and 4 km, lit until 21:00.
At IK Vista, there is a 2.6 km illuminated trail and a high-altitude loop of 7 km for more advanced skiing.
Here there is a 3 km illuminated trail lit until 22:00, as well as additional trails of 5 km and 10 km.
Here you can choose between trails of 6.9 km, 13 km, and 16.3 km for a challenging tour.
