Centralbageriet – a small local artisan bakery in the heart of Huskvarna
Save
At Centralbageriet, the guiding principles are quality and excellent service. Everything is made on-site using high-quality ingredients. You’ll find a wide selection of traditional cakes, sandwich cakes, cookies, pastries, and freshly baked bread.
Described as “the little café with a big heart,” Centralbageriet lives up to its reputation, confirmed by its loyal regulars. Large windows facing the street provide a bright and welcoming atmosphere, and the well-stocked counter offers something for everyone.
The interior follows a minimalist Scandinavian style in calm tones. Outside, there’s a sunny outdoor seating area that enjoys sunshine for most of the day.
Centralbageriet preserves the tradition of classic pastries while introducing new creations. Classics like princess cakes and Budapest pastries share the counter with innovations like blueberry princess cake and mousse pastries. The same applies to their cookies and biscuits, offering options like rhubarb mazarins, gooey chocolate muffins, and Selma bread.
Centralbageriet serves a variety of generously filled sandwiches to suit all tastes! Choose from classics like salami and brie, ham and cheese, meatball sandwiches, Skagen baguettes, shrimp sandwiches, and more. They also offer a range of fresh salads and slices of sandwich cake (available Tuesday–Saturday).
The café also features a delicatessen shelf stocked with a variety of products, from their own biscotti and cardamom rusks to tea, chocolate, and organic cider from local producers like Rudenstams Bär & Frukt and Gårdsrosteriet.
You’re welcome to take your treats and baked goods home. Cakes and sandwich cakes can be pre-ordered, with many options available gluten-free. If you prefer takeaway, the cozy park Mjölkafållan is just a few hundred meters away. The park features a large playground for all ages and, in late April to early May, bursts into bloom with cherry blossoms.
Gazing out over Lake Vättern, the giant Vist stands tall in Huskvarna. Here, striking contrasts meet — between stunning natural surroundings and the historic Husqvarna Factory, established in 1689 to produce weapons for the Swedish military. At the Husqvarna Museum, you can explore everything from sewing machines and motorcycles to modern-day chainsaws and lawnmowers. Nearby, Smedbyn offers a charming mix of history, art galleries, and craft studios. Since 1925, Huskvarna Folkets Park has been a beloved venue for music, theatre, festivals, and fairs.
