Café in the of the Rosarium

Enjoy homemade snacks at Café Stallgården, located in the heart of Rosenlunds Rosarium, one of the world's most visit-worthy rose gardens.

The summer café is housed in a beautiful white stone building that once served as a stable.

A visit to Café Stallgården and Rosenlunds Rosarium is a delightful outing suitable for many. The large areas with gravel paths and floral splendor are a feast for the eyes and a perfect opportunity to stretch your legs. There is both outdoor seating and plenty of space inside the building.

From stable to café

Rosenlunds herrgård was built in the Gustavian style during the 18th century. The stable building, which now houses the café, was constructed in the early 1900s as a stable for Gustav Lindman's (the manor's last owner) horses.

Between 1937 and 1954, it was used as a stable for the police horses during the period when mounted police were present in Jönköping.

In recent years, the building has undergone extensive renovations and was nominated for the 2024 Urban Planning Award. The award is given annually by Jönköping Municipality to a project completed that year, contributing to the development of the city's image.

The motivation read: By adding new functions, the early 20th-century stable building has been given new life. The building has been renovated both inside and out, with changes made respecting the building's original architecture. With a newly designed central room for café life and an entrance façade with new window doors, the project contributes to the overall environment at Rosenlunds herrgård and also strengthens the facility's important central axis.
