Experience Kroatorpet in Huskvarna with a magical view over lake Vättern! Nestled in rich history and the scent of freshly baked bread, there is a café, bakery, shop, and restaurant with delicious weekend brunch and summer lunch buffet.
Kroatorpet dates back to the 18th century and holds much history, just like the nearby Kruthuset with Huskvarna City Museum. In the summer of 2018, Landhs Konditori took over Kroatorpet and rents its premises from Huskvarna Local Heritage Association.
In 2023, Landhs Konditori was awarded the title of Entrepreneur of the Year. Besides Huskvarna, you can find them in Mullsjö, Bankeryd, and Habo, both in the city and at Kärnekulla.
In 2020, Huskvarna Local Heritage Association enlisted the help of architects from Tengbom in Jönköping with the goal of making Kroatorpet a place for many and creating an even better environment for both guests and staff. This resulted in Kroatorpet getting a new restaurant section while preserving two older main buildings.
The extension has glass walls that protect against motorway noise and open up to the beautiful view over lake Vättern. Indoors, there is wood for a warm and cozy feel. The furniture comes from Karl Andersson & Söner's furniture factory, which operates in Huskvarna.
The renovation of Kroatorpet was awarded Jönköping's Urban Planning Prize in the category "Good Building Conservation" in 2022.
Kroatorpet has always been an important meeting place for the residents of Huskvarna. Many travelers along the E4 also come here for a break. Kroatorpet has large spaces, about 150 seats indoors and almost as many on the outdoor terrace.
The place is child-friendly and perfect for large groups, especially bus travelers.
Many come to Kroatorpet for a good coffee break. Here, in a peaceful environment, you can enjoy traditional pastries, everything from cakes and pastries to buns and cookies. Additionally, there is homemade gelato made from organic milk from Habo Prästgård.
Kroatorpet offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every day of the week, breakfast is served with freshly baked rolls, eggs, yogurt/smoothie, and drinks. Every Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy a delicious brunch with freshly baked rolls, tasty toppings, cold and hot dishes, and finish off with cake and other sweet pastries.
During the summer, there is a lovely summer lunch buffet with two different dishes, a large salad buffet, bread, and coffee. After the lunch buffet, a dinner menu is served. Kroatorpet has alcohol rights, which means you can enjoy a glass of wine, sparkling wine, or a cold beer with your meal.
If you're craving a glass of rosé and a shrimp sandwich, then Rosé Wednesday is for you.
On Midsummer Day, a Midsummer celebration with dancing around the maypole is organized.
For several years in September, popular soup culture lunches have been arranged. They start with a lecture or other cultural event in Kruthuset, and then visitors go to Kroatorpet to eat soup with freshly baked bread and cake with coffee.
In autumn, a harvest market is organized, and at Christmas, you can enjoy a Christmas buffet and Christmas market.
Gazing out over Lake Vättern, the giant Vist stands tall in Huskvarna. Here, striking contrasts meet — between stunning natural surroundings and the historic Husqvarna Factory, established in 1689 to produce weapons for the Swedish military. At the Husqvarna Museum, you can explore everything from sewing machines and motorcycles to modern-day chainsaws and lawnmowers. Nearby, Smedbyn offers a charming mix of history, art galleries, and craft studios. Since 1925, Huskvarna Folkets Park has been a beloved venue for music, theatre, festivals, and fairs.
