Meet alpacas and have a unique experience

Get up close and personal with alpacas at the farm located in the middle of Visingsö. The farm also offers a playground and a hobby horse track for children. For a more relaxed visit, unwind in hammocks or grab a bite at the summer café.

Just a few kilometers north from the harbour on Visingsö, you’ll find Gladhytt Farm. Here, you can enjoy the tranquillity of the island while lounging in a hammock or savouring a treat from the café, open during the summer. Nathalie and Philipp, a married couple, are fulfilling their dream of striving toward self-sustainability on this idyllic farm.

Alpacas

The farm is home to several alpacas, including Ellen, Estelle, Swea Af Gladhytt, and Ronya. You can step into their enclosure with some snacks to make friends with the alpacas. A visit to the enclosure takes approximately 45 minutes and must be pre-booked.

You can also purchase the farm’s “black gold” – not coffee, but alpaca manure, which is excellent for plants.

About the farm

Some buildings on the farm date back to 1862, while others are more recent. Spanning a 9,000-square-meter plot, the farm offers plenty of space for activities. You can enjoy waffles at the café, relax in hammocks, or let the kids explore the playground and hobby horse track.

Glamping

Here, you can fall asleep with alpacas grazing in the field beside you and wake up with them just outside your door. Enjoy breakfast in the pasture surrounded by the whole alpaca gang. You’ll experience the peacefulness of the forest, the quiet of nature, and your own private outdoor space. Comfortable beds, a warm outdoor shower, and a cozy barbecue area complete the experience.

Visingsö

Take the ferry from Gränna to Visingsö, a gem in Lake Vättern with stunning nature and a rich history tied to the powerful Brahe family. Don’t miss Brahe Church, home to a wealth of artistic treasures. The island is easy to explore by bike or by horse-drawn carriage – remmalag. Here, you're close to nature and can meet alpacas, go horseback riding, or paddle a kayak.
