The legend of Visingsö

One evening the giant Vist and his wife were off at a party in Västergötland. They had a nice evening and when they were going home to Småland again the wife had a hard time getting home. The giant Vist took a step over Vättern, but his wife did not manage to cross the lake with only one step. She asked her husband to put a tussock in the lake. Jätten Vist did as he was told and put the tussock in Vättern, so that his wife had something to step on. At the same time as he helped his beloved wife he also created Visingsö. A nature beautiful island and it is not difficult to understand why Visingsö is a popular destination.
