The silent film classic Gösta Berling's saga with Greta Garbo in one of the roles will be performed again, this time at Folkets Bio in Jönköping. The duo YoJuliet has together with Jonas Jonasson from bob hund composed new music which they perform live in the salon.
At the Värnamo film history festival 2024, the duo YoJuliet, which consists of Julia Sandwall and Yohanna Eek Björnulfson and Jonas Jonasson, keyboardist in bob hund, made a success when they accompanied the silent film Gösta Berling's saga.
What can the audience expect?
Gösta Berling's saga is full of celebration, madness, anxiety and intrigue, burning houses, love and sleigh rides over ice with hunting wolves. The trio has delved deep into the drama to musically portray the film. Strings, percussion, vocals and synths come together in the soundscape and create an exciting clash with the old black and white silent film. It becomes comical, beautiful and deeply uncomfortable in a blissful mess. Carnival revelry is also promised, as is languishing romance. Everything to match the mammoth, musty and strange that pervades Gösta Berling's saga.
