Blvck Hippie The bands Josh Shaw approached their newest record with a freedom and weirdness that manifests itself in a confident genre agnostic journey that seamlessly transitions between twinkly midwest emo guitars, early aughts Lower East Side indie rock, woozy chillwave, spoken word and jazz. With songs structured more like acts in a play than your typical verse, chorus, verse, at every turn the listener comes across something delightfully unexpected. And in a nod to the rich musical history of the bands hometown, and the underappreciated present day artistic scene therein, a choir of Memphis artists contribute their voices to various songs, acting as a storytelling device tying the records various threads together.
KRISTINA ISSA In 2025, Kristina Issa have just resleased her fourth album, Barn som ber, where she releases music in Swedish for the first time. The album features a raw, honest and melodic sound where the broad musical palette draws inspiration from both energetic indie pop and oriental tonality. Barn som ber carries themes such as loneliness and darkness, but also hope and faith in the future. On stage, the audience can expect a dynamic, emotionally charged performance where both playfulness and drive take place. With synths, bombastic drums and an almost otherworldly powerful voice, Kristina Issa invites her audience to a concert experience that is rocking, hard and fragile at the same time, a concert filled with expressive energy that echoes long after the last note has faded.
