Västersjöbadet

At Västersjön, you will find the outdoor swimming area Västersjöbadet. As the name suggests, it is located just west of Jönköping, near Jönköping Airport. This is a cosy and family-friendly swimming spot for both young and old, and even dogs are welcome.

The swimming area’s shoreline mainly consists of grass, while the lakebed is sandy, making it a pleasant place to swim for all ages. Thanks to the size of Västersjön, the lake tends to reach a comfortable swimming temperature.

A full day at the beach

If you are planning a full day by the lake, there is a barbecue area and a dry toilet near the beach. There is no kiosk at the swimming area, so if you want to enjoy a snack or a meal, be sure to bring your own picnic basket.

Dog swimming area

A few hundred metres from the main swimming spot, there is a designated area where dogs are welcome to swim. A path runs around the entire Västersjön, making it ideal for a walk with your dog, which can then end with a refreshing dip in the lake.

Jönköping

How to get here

The easiest way to get to Västersjöbadet is by car. There is parking for around 50 cars right next to the beach.
