AN EVENING WITH MANDO DIAO AUTUMN 2021 - IN SWEDISH
Just before the summer, Mando Diao released the acclaimed album "I solnedgången", their first Swedish album in eight years. The new album went straight to the top of the album list, stayed in the top 40 all summer and has been hailed in unison by the Swedish press. In the autumn of 2021, Mando Diao goes on tour in a unique and intimate format and this time plays at concert halls around Sweden - entirely in Swedish. One of next year's absolute highlights!
Mando Diao has undeniably left their mark on Swedish music since they first took over the Swedish rock scene in 2002. A band that has always gone their own way and followed their visions, something that has resulted in the collaboration with The Salazar Brothers on "Give Me Fire" and Gustaf Fröding's 100 years old collections of poems on" Infruset". During the course of their career, the band has offered acclaimed live performances and a wide catalog of songs that took both Sweden and the rest of the world by storm.
Less than a year after the latest album Bang and their efforts as the in house band in "På Spåret", Mando Diao released" I solnedgången", their second Swedish-language album and their first since the success Infruset from 2012. The first single "Själens skrubbsår" came out in the spring and is written by singer Björn Dixgårds parents. The new album has been praised by the Swedish press and has received positive reviews from Gaffa, Aftonbladet and Göteborgsposten, among others.
Jan Gradvall praised the album in DI Weekend and wrote this about the singer Björn Dixgård:
“A rare powerful voice that becomes even more unique in Swedish than in English. His vocal cords are like unplaned pine, perfect for scratching out lines that the soul's abrasions burn in the night, the journey of life has left its mark. ”
As one of Sweden's most appreciated live bands with performances that smoke with explosive energy, this time Mando Diao takes on a more intimate live experience. Next year's autumn and winter tour will take place at concert halls in 20 cities around Sweden for a more stripped-down performance with their Swedish-language song treasure.
We are already looking forward to seeing more captivating performances with Mando Diao - with new music and a new format. It will be a beautiful and enjoyable evening around the country and a memory for life for both old and new fans of the band.
