Le Nozze di Figaro

Due to the corona pandemic, the Metropolitan Opera is closed during the autumn of 2020. In order not to disappoint their opera fans around the world, Met instead offers some of his most acclaimed sets in reruns. Le Nozze di Figaro is the first in the series we are proud to present and it was recorded in October 2014.

Swedish Peter Mattei takes his place on Metropolitan's stage in Mozart's opera comedy Le Nozze di Figaro. In Le Nozze di Figaro, the bonds of love between the rich married couple and their engaged servants are tested. Everything takes place during a very eventful day in the 1920s, on a well-ordered estate in Seville.

REVIEWS: Luleå's Peter Mattei makes a brilliant effort, which grows all the time, as the comic game develops. It is a magnificent and well-balanced effort from start to finish. As usual, the Metropolitan Orchestra and choir under the direction of the eminent James Levine impressed, both conductor and orchestra are among my absolute favorites in my opera world. It was a very nice opera experience and the almost four-hour experience did not feel very long at all and I also had fun while enjoying stage and singing art at the very highest level. ” - OPERALOGG.COM
