Ebba Forsberg is one of the great Swedish singers with a voice that gives weight, seriousness and credibility to the lyrics. Ebba has published several critically acclaimed interpretations of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. It is finely tuned and incredibly beautiful and the concert will mainly feature material by Dylan, Cohen and Waits. In 2019, Ebba together with Mikael Wiehe released the critically acclaimed album "For body and soul" which is the latest in a series of personal interpretations of Bob Dylan's songs.
Her first records with her own material were in English and were noticed on the other side of the Atlantic by the record company Maverick, which is owned by Madonna.
Then, in the late 90's, Ebba got a call from the USA, "We like your material, come here with the next flight". It was Freddy DeMann, one of the most successful in the music business. He had, for example, Jackson Five, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Lionel Ritchie on his track record. He also took care of Canadian Alanis Morrisette.
In other words, Ebba Forsberg signed for one of the most successful record companies in the world. There were a few records in English and a couple of years touring in the US before Ebba returned to Sweden.
Ebba Forsberg has at this time worked as an artist and musician for 30 years. Before the USA adventure, she drove behind the group Eldkvarn and has since toured extensively with Ulf Lundell, Thåström and Imperiet. For a couple of years in the 90s, she was a member of Traste Lindén's quintet, where she also played accordion.
Ebba writes her own music and has also made several much appreciated interpretations of other people's songs. So far, there have been a total of seven records. In 2007 she made an album with Bob Dylan interpretations together with Mikael Wiehe. Two years later came an album with music by Leonard Cohen and in 2015 came her interpretations of Tom Waits an album that was nominated for a Grammy. These albums were followed by touring with Mikael Wiehe and Plura.
In January 2017, we could see and hear Ebba Forsberg in the televised sports gala perform her critically acclaimed interpretation of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
