Det alldagliga

With horror-mixed delight, surprise, fear and joy, I accepted the offer from Österängens Konsthall for an exhibit. This is my first solo exhibition since I left the Academy of Fine Arts in 2016. It is panic. It's horror. There are thoughts that maybe I should be studying to be either a carpenter or a nurse. It is big. It is scary. But it's fun too.

Before visiting the art gallery in the autumn of 2020, I zoom in on "Österängens Konsthal"l via Google maps. The art gallery is located in a larger building, with neighbors such as a pizzeria, grocery store, gym, Thai massage etc. I get an idea to combine the activities in the building in different ways. Collect materials, waste products or connect to the activities somehow. Imagine, for example, being free to stack a mountain, a shape, a sculpture inside the grocery store, as a giant Lego building where the enormous shape will be picked apart by customers over and over again. There was an artist who built a pyramid of beer in one gallery in Berlin a lot of years ago. At the opening, all visitors sat on the pyramid various steps downing beers. They were probably quite happy. "

Ingrid Jansson was born in 1990 and is educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. She has previously participated in several group exhibitions, including at Växjö Art Gallery in Småland and at SIM Gallery in Reykjavik.
