Based on ALMA-rewarded Shaun Tan's picture novel directed by the American stage artist Thaddeus Phillips.
After a cool boat ride, a man steps out into a strange city. Alone in a world where the language is incomprehensible and the social codes difficult to interpret. All he owns is the suitcase in his hand and the photograph in the jacket pocket, a card on the family he had to leave.
Tired, the man begins to move into the new environment. Slowly he learns to communicate, finds a job and makes friends, but the dream of returning home to the family is growing ever stronger.
This critically acclaimed success returns to Jönköping after a journey that has taken it all over Sweden and out in Europe.
