A language for what cannot be said

For the first time ever, the world-famous artist duo Lundahl & Seitl are doing a solo exhibition in their hometown of Jönköping. From the start of their collaboration in 2005, they have devoted themselves to artistic and philosophical investigations of our perception, of boundaries and connections between living things and objects, places and environments. In their work, it is the visual, auditory and tactile impressions of the visitor that make up the artwork itself.

The exhibition a language for what cannot be said is a retrospective of works from the period 2009-2022. The works have often been created as solo projects in collaboration with museums, art galleries or biennales from all over the world and this exhibition is a unique opportunity to experience them in relation to each other.

Lundahl & Seitl move freely in a universe consisting of virtual reality, choreography, memories, spirituality and interpersonal relationships. The artworks in the exhibition guide the visitor in different ways through experiences that exceed the limits of what we know and where conventional strategies for understanding and rationalization prove to be insufficient.

The exhibition shows the video work An Elegy to the Medium of Film as well as a work from the series Symphony of a Missing Room where the visitor is guided through a Virtual Reality experience, and the interactive work Tail of the Hen that you experience together with another person, at the art gallery or a completely different place in the world.

Practical information: "Symphony of a Missing Room" is shown on Thursdays and Fridays in the "visitor's version". It is then possible to experience it without pre-booking between 11.00-15.00. On the weekends, the original version of "Symphony of a Missing room" is shown by appointment. You book your appointment at our website. Expect your visit to the art gallery to take around 1.5 hours to experience all three works. Note that all the works have speeches and instructions in English!
