Vernissage of Acerba. by Alex Abra!
Join us at Nyfiket for the opening of our next exhibition, featuring the textile and fiber art of Jönköping-based artist Alex Oskarsson Thorsby alias Alex Abra.

The title Acerba. comes from Latin and means “sharp” or “bitter,” reflecting the intriguing and sometimes unsettling qualities of Alex’s work.
Through fine-line embroidery, weaving, textile printing and quilting, Alex explores the collision of materials, dark textures and anatomical forms. They invite us to look closer at what is usually hidden and to question our ideas of beauty and disgust. Can something we consider gross truly be beautiful?
This is Alex’s first solo exhibition, and we’re excited to share their work with you!
