Dunkehallaleden

The Dunkehalla Trail runs along the long valley of the Dunkehalla River from Kortebovägen by Vätterstranden to Dalvik on the western heights of Jönköping.

It is a walk of slightly more than one kilometre, partly on a steep ascent with steps. Jönköping’s first industries were founded in the valley several hundred years ago. The trail continues through Dalviksparken and on to Klämmestorp, where it connects with the Hallby Trail. By Klämmestorp there also are bridle paths and roads that are used by the Jönköping field riding club. The beautiful grayling, which is unusual in southern Sweden, spawns at the mouth of the Dunkehalla River.
