Tegnértornet/Skogstornet

From Gränna hiill you have a sweeping view of Gränna and Vättern. Anyone wishing to broaden their horizons, can take a stroll along Holaveds road between Gränna-Tranås to Forest Gate, which is located about 1.5 km east of Northern Boarp.

The tower was built in 1973 on the initiative of sports journalist Torsten Tegner and is sometimes called Tegner Tower. An interior spiral staircase of 144 steps lead up to a viewing platform, which reaches a height of 351 meters above sea level (262 meters above the lake). From here you can see all the four provinces surrounding the lake: Närke, Småland, Västergötland and Östergötland.

You will reach Tegnértornet by taking off road 133 (Tranåsvägen) just east of the highway. Then, follow the road north for about 1.5 kilometers, and here you can park your car. It is also possible to start on the square of Gränna and walk the stairs up to Grännaberget. From there you find the same parking lot from which there is an approximately 1.3 kilometer long, fairly hilly path to the tower.
