In the beautiful Äppledalen valley lies Hunnerydsbadet – here you can rent kayaks and SUPs. Rent one and then just paddle out onto the scenic Lake Landsjön.
Make your way to Hunnerydsbadet and the kayak and SUP station. Scan the QR code and follow the instructions. The padlock is unlocked with a code sent to your email. Then just grab your kayak or SUP and head out onto Lake Landsjön.
Lake Landsjön is shared by swimmers, boats, kayaks and a rich variety of wildlife. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 11 metres and is home to fish such as eel, pike, tench, crucian carp, bream, roach, burbot, ruffe, perch and zander. The lake has a very high biological value and is home to a number of rare species. Among the nesting waterbirds are the song thrush, grasshopper warbler, water rail, marsh harrier, common snipe, jack snipe, penduline tit, moorhen, bearded tit and red-footed falcon. If you're lucky, you might spot one as you glide past the reeds.
Near the beach you'll find Grafitgrå, a café and interior design shop – stop in for a flatbread, a coffee and cake, or just an ice cream. The beach is situated right in the heart of Äppledalen – here you'll find the farm shops Strands gård, Rudenstams and Vistakulle fruktodlingar. The latter two together have 130,000 apple trees in the valley. You'll also find Gisebo vin and Kallfeldts läder – a vibrant valley with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. In the area you can also explore Kaxholmens lövskog and the Vista MTB trail.
North of Huskvarna, you’ll find Småland’s very own Tuscany – Äppledalen, the Apple Valley. Here, over 100,000 apple trees grow at Rudenstams and Vistakulle Fruit Orchards. This idyllic getaway is part of the East Vätterbranterna Biosphere Reserve and offers breathtaking views over Lake Landsjön and Lake Vättern, scenic orchards, nature reserves, local leather craftsmanship, interior design shops, charming countryside cafés, and farm stores. It’s the perfect complement to the buzz of the city.
